I am a Polish born and Amsterdam based managing editor and publications producer, working primarily in the field of photography, art and culture. I’m also a co-founder of Growing Pains, a publishing initiative navigating the crossroads of visual arts, publishing, conversation, education and human connections of all sorts.

I studied literature and cultural analysis. My master's programme shifted my focus from purely text-based narratives to visual ones. It also brought me from Krakow to Amsterdam. From 2007 on, I’ve worked predominantly with photography. I’ve been part of the organisation and production teams of Photomonth in Krakow and Unseen Amsterdam and managed the production and distribution of the Foam Magazine. Later I worked with Noor Images as an editorial director and coordinated publications for Manifesta Biennial.

In 2022 I set up Agata Bar Office to do what I love doing most - manage publication projects for organisations and institutions.

I can recruit and oversee a team of experts to cover the full spectrum of the publication's production (both printed and digital) — from concept through execution. I take care of budget calculations, planning & production and supervise the design, copywriting and editing.
